Men's Olympic Triathlon (Read 243 times)

What a finish! I really hoped Whitfield had enough to win that sprint in the last 100m, but it wasn't to be. Great race. Frodeno was strong in that run, esp considering his size. Smile

1 summer race done. 1 fall race done. Looking forward to the Resolution Run Dec 31!

Whitfield made a nice recovery in the run portion. When he started in 17th or so I was afraid he wouldn't kick it in and finish strong. I was very impressed with his finishing run keeping up with the leaders. Nice to bring home another silver for Canada!

Yelling at the TV close to midnight makes me glad we live in an older building with good solid walls. Big grin
PB: 36:44 2008 STWM 5k ... now to bring that lower...
Soon to be Dad (Apr. 30)
Amazing race. What an ending!
I'm assuming this thread will bring out the canucks on the forum. Smile
We (wifey and I) were yelling at the TV in those final gripping moments.
Way to go Whitfield!
Goals for 2009:
Find the perfect jogging stroller
Sub-3hr Marathon
Contemplate an ultra
Winning Gold in Sydney (2000) and a Silver 8 years later in Beijing is pretty damn impressive stuff.

Hell of a run.

And the New Zealanders! OK only for the bronze but there was always the Gold/Silver finish for the Kiwis (Carter/Docherty) in Athens.

Like the Canadians, I suspect, we Kiwis count our victories where we can (whatever the size).
