Worst.Song.Ever (Read 374 times)

Quote from jEfFgObLuE on 2/1/2008 at 4:36 PM:
No way. The original itself is a classic guilty pleasure, and the Anchorman bit just underscored its excellence.

The genius of Afternoon Delight is that everyone one in America of all ages was singing along with that song, either oblivious to or ignoring the fact that it was all about scoring a nooner. It seemed so innocent, but it was all about shagging.

No other song, with the exception of the Beatles "Please Please Me", has ever been so dirty yet received such widespread acceptance.

I agree with every word. That's a great little naughty ditty. Especially for its time.

I actually LIKE that song. I have the dance re-mix on my iPod. Great to run to.

Did, you are now officially on my S**T list, bro. Not cool. Though I'll admit that takes the cake for actors as singers. Jeebus.

Have you ever wondered if there was more to life other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?

I think that seals the deal on actors and singing. Jesus.

Don't these people have agents and managers to stop them from this kind of thing?

OK, someone start a Worst.Video.Ever thread. Oh wait, we already have a winner. Thanks, did.
No, I don't want the damned combo special. Now quit asking me that.

Nimoy lacks the fabulous irony that The Shatner found so easily. I actually enjoy some of The Shatner's music, like this.

Absolutely terrifying, but it's a novelty song, and doesn't meet the requirements set forth by The Perrfesser.

By popular demand, here it is. The rules are: It has to be pop/rock, and has to have hit the top 40.

That being said, I am currently gouging my ears out with a letter opener. But it won't make the song go away in my head.

Ruleses are made to be brokenses. I mean, if we're truly to plumb the depths of musical horror, surely we must venture in to the darkness...

Yes, you're right. I was just looking vainly for a way out. I stared into the abyss. And the abyss sang back at me. And now I must continue my work with that letter opener...

Oh - if you're going to allow rule breaking, I'm sure we can top Suzanne Vega and Starship.

You might to want to start with exploring whatever ELSE was on Don Johnson's album. If he had an album.

Terrible yes, but the underlying song he sampled ("Under Pressure" by Queen w/ David Bowie) is so awesome that I can stand listening to "Ice Ice Baby." Not by choice, though.

Even worse was his Rap-Metal re-recording of it in 1999.
