Couldn't see if a thread was already started on this but its a bit of a goal of mine
First i have a marathon in April but once that is out the way this is something i want to do. Its always been a goal of mine well i would like a sub 7 minute paced 10km but one step at a time
My PR is 7:27, but that was last March not even in that shape i don't doubt. So if anyone has any ideas (i'm thinking well ahead here) At the moment i'm doing some long runs basing my training around the Van Aaken Method. so lots of running at low heart rates (log not up to date but will sort that out) with some pick ups and regular strides
Also last March i did 400metres in 99 seconds, 800metre from 2008 is 3:37 not setting the world on fire but they were one off races for a bit of fun.
I shall post a few more details in a bit but have to have breakfast now
I would like to improve at shorter distances too, but mostly because I feel it would also help me at longer distances.
It may be worth doing some very short intervals, perhaps 200metres with a short rest period, in order to improve speed and possibly VO2max, at least it makes it seem easier to maintain a very fast pace.
