No one? Anyone? Bueller?

Ah, oh well. I'LL have fun running this one. It's a tough little 5k, there's lots of hill. To give you an idea of the difficulty, the mens winner usually comes in ~17:00. The route is in the RA database, if you want to check it out.

I'll be there, along with DS (7), who hasn't decided yet if he wants to run another 5K (ever!) after last month's, or if he will stick to the kid's 1K. Given the expected heat I am encouraging the latter for him...

Awesome! It's great when the little ones show any interest in running!

I'll be with 3yo DD, who has been talking about doing the race this year since we finished last year! She was very excited about "the clown" (Ronald McDonald) last year. Of course she didn't run (she was in the jogging stroller) and will be again this year. Look for me in the back with a green jogging stroller and the obnoxiously loud red shirt.

(At this race, you have to start in the back if you have a jogging stroller)

I decided to take a few weeks off because i just ran a half Marathon in Simsbury last weekend and a tough 5 miler in Norfolk (Hills) on memorial day. My body is saying slow it down a bit.

I've heard the Ironhorse is a moderately difficult half. I chose to skip it and to the one at Lake Compounce instead.

I'm not aware of the one in Norfoolk, though.

Sorry you won't make it!

I'm walking the Race for the Cure in Raleigh, NC, on 6/14! I started my BC journey in 2002, mets in liver in 2005, and now mets in bones in lower back. Thank you so much for supporting this race.

My MIL (mother in law) started at the same time. Double mastectomy in 2002, declined chemo after getting clear margins, one lymph node involved. Her2Neu positive, hormone insensitive. Mets in 2004 in the liver and brain, Herceptin treated the mets in liver, but not in the brain. She died Christmas Eve 2004.

I can only hope and pray for your good health. I run for her, I run for my wife, I run for my two daughters, and now I run for you. Please send me your name and I will add it to my list of people that I run for.

Ironhorse was a pretty flat course, so for my first HM, I didn't think it was too tough. I had the Bristol one ear marked in case something came up and I missed the Ironhorse (or wasn't ready) or not pleased with my results.

Norfolk is a 5 miler, but a real tough one with several long hills. It's run on Memorial day every year and it's a pretty good event.

So if you're running Bristol, what section of CT are you from?

Let us know how the Race for the Cure goes.
