Shoe to replace NB644 (Read 502 times)

Running Dad

http://www.porterstahoe.com/istar.asp?a=6&id=MR644WN!NEW&tracking=googlebase I've been using these for the last year and love em. Unfortunately now that it's time to get some more I can't seem to find them anywhere. If I can avoid it I'd rather not order them. What shoes would be good to replace these? I'd like to stay in the NB family, they've been real good to me, but I'm open to options. I have a wide foot so that is a necessity. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like they are a stability shoe. I think you'd have good luck with the 769 (Running Warehouse has the best price once shipping is figured in and it's free 2nd day air--they also have widths available in both colors)...I have put 100 miles on mine and really like them (the reviews everywhere I have looked are quite favorable). They do seem to run longer than earlier NB models, though (NB seems to have done something with the length on several of their models in the past year). So if you end up ordering them online I really recommend getting them a half-size smaller than what you would otherwise wear. You could probably find the 768 for cheaper, but I had a pair of them last Spring and sent them back...they were a stiffer shoe and didn't fit as well as the previous 767. Like you, I'm a fan of the NB fit and have wide feet. I've given up trying other brands...I have yet to find one that didn't give me fit or function issues (I've tried Asics twice, Saucony, Mizuno...none of them worked for me).

I've Brooks Adrenalin in 2E, and they've been ok (430mi), but they just changed the model and I tried it today, and it was ok, but then I found a NB I liked better and switched back to NB -- which is what I always used up til that brief foray into Brooks Adrenalin. So I'm another wide-footer living mostly in NB camp Smile

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Looks like joesnewbalanceoutlet.com has free shipping this month, they don't have the MR644 but it might be worth looking around the site. I pulled my last pair of 1061 out of the box yesterday, so looks like I'll be giving the 1062 a try soon (current model is the 1063). When you find a shoe that works, you can buy 'em or hope the company doesn't mess with the next version. Hard to say if it's the same shoe, but the outlet has some 645: http://www.joesnewbalanceoutlet.com/detail.asp?style=MR645BK http://www.joesnewbalanceoutlet.com/detail.asp?style=MR645GR http://www.joesnewbalanceoutlet.com/detail.asp?style=MR645WN
