I was ROBBED (Read 1166 times)

After lap 11 on the neighbourhood track, I noticed my duffel bag was missing. Inside were: -Clothes -School Textbooks -3 guitar pedals, two of which I just bought this afternoon for SGD50 each and another that my friend sent to me for repair -Spectacles -Sony Erricsion k770i -Bunch of keys (to my house and for my bike, and also the keychain that got for a 10k race) -Wallet (no cash inside, but my i/d card, atm card, me and my 2 friend's school matric card, library card were inside) -Stationary (together with a graphic calculator worth SGD100) I frantically asked around, and someone said this young, fat guy in orange ran off with it. I sprinted off in search of him, to no avail. Now my parents are screwing me upside down for being so careless. Damn the fcuker to hell. I hope he finds himself 50metres in front of a marathon starting line and get trampled to death by runners. Please send bad karma his way.

    Non ducor, duco.

That sucks. I hope he gets mauled by a dog on his next run.

While your situation is unfortunate, I have to agree with your parents on this one. Was there not any lockers to lock up your stuff in? Did you really need to bring all that stuff to the track in the first place?
Don't people get flogged for this? (Surprised they don't have a law for leaving bags unattended at the track. Big grin) I hope you have mercy on his bum when he returns your stuff. BTW, I'd change your locks just in case this dude decides to come over to "befriend" you in bed. By the way, your blog is a trip dude.

At least he's fat. There's something you have over him.
All the lockers were filled up, and even if they weren't, I didn't have any money with me Sad I had a long day at school, then I had to hurry off to town to buy the pedals that I pre-ordered some time back, before going to my friend's house to get his pedal. The other things are what I usually carry with me to school. I thought I could squeeze in a run at the end of it all, since I already brought along my running gear, why not. Sigh. Black eye

Sorry about that! Some people are just plain stinky. Tongue

Its the same the world over, heres a quote from a MTB forum over here in England. Just literally back from ride setting up for a barby when I heard some lady shout,'excuse me thats not your bike' turned round to see a young lad making off as fast as he could peddle with someone's pride and joy, went to grab my bike shouted to Rich who said I'll go! and of he went in hot pursuit, (although he never saw him as we were a fair distance away). To no avail unfortunately. Bike was a white specialised with silver bomber forks. if anyone hears of anthing or is suspiscious dont buy. Police came, not sure how much good that will do. told the guy to post pics of his bike on as many forums as possible. he is well gutted as will get no insurance pay out as it was not locked up. guess we will all have to start being a bit more cautious at the chase now. two in one day apparently. :-( Oh and the lad walked through and passed loads of people and those right next to the bikes and just brazenly helped himself. he was fast too and knew where he was headed so prob local. LOCK IT OR LOSE IT!

My son had a similar thing happen at college - someone stole some stuff right out of his dorm (came in through the window). They took his phone, calculator, $$ from his wallet, and iPod. One thing I knew that the thief didn't when my son called me was that his phone had a GPS. Sprint has GPS tracking ability on their service for a fee. I turned it on, and was able to work with the college police to track the guy down to his dorm. We got back the calculator and phone, but the iPod was gone and they couldn't find any money in his room or on him. Don't know if your phone or service has that capability but I figured I'd pass it along just in case.

It made me laugh. I usually use the phrase when something is out there (as in I can't believe it) or just cracks me up (makes me laugh). Have you met up with Kaki King, yet? Big grin "When I born, I black When I grow up, I black When I go in Sun, I black When I scared, I black When I sick, I black And when I die, I still black And you white fellow When you born, you pink When you grow up, you white When you go in sun, you red When you cold, you blue When you scared, you yellow When you sick, you green And when you die, you gray And you calling me coloured?''

                        Hoping to Run Again :-(

Oh I'm so sorry - that's awful Sad Don't worry hon - karma's gonna chomp on his chunky orange butt. *bad vibes* being sent his way. Along with hopes that guilt drives him to return your things.

mgerwien I called my handphone subscriber, Singtel, and they said that there's no such thing as a GPS tracker for handphone Shocked Wow. modal Glad it provided you with (possibly) hours of humour Big grin Maplefly I don't care much for the other things, I just hope my identity card somehow gets into my hands again. Replacing it can cost upwards of $300, and not to mention the rubbish he could get me into by impersonating me! Angry

                            Best Present Ever

I dunno. I meet folks to run at the local track. We're all responsible adults and we all drop our car keys and jackets in the same spot together. Then we run, often doing a 2-3 mile warm up off the track, or conversely warming up for a few miles on the track then doing a tempo run on the road. Then we come back and pick up our keys and go (except for those of us who left our keys *in* our unlocked cars.) I'm guessing my Camry is worth more even than the new guitar pedals and the glasses. I think it sucks that someone stole your stuff.
Because of this thread, the other day at the track I hesitated on leaving my key in my bag by the fence. I was about to tie it to my shoe when my running buddy teased me about being overly worried about it.
