Just Be

Just got back from the track and am so excited to report my 100 meter time...
A few months ago I ran a 12.58 but was deliberately holding back because I was still in the base phase. I guessed that the effort was around 95%...
Well, today was my first honest attempt at 100% effort 100 meter sprint intervals and my best rep of the day clocked in at 10.66 - I was expecting somewhere between 11 and 12, having not done any speed-related drills yet at all since I started running again.
I was wearing long pants - first mistake since I rushed out of the house this morning, and was in my regular spikeless trainers. I guess I still have the speed!
I hope that at some point this summer I can break my lifetime 100 meter PR of 10.2 seconds with smart training and some speed drills, shorts and track spikes.
Anyway, that's my rant. I just feel like I have to tell as many people as I can because I'm literally gleaming with excitement!
