If I hear anymore news comments about boycotting the Olympics, I will loose it! People do not understand exactly what Olympic athletes go through to even get there. If we boycott anything, it should be buying products made in China. That would get their attention.

Well, in my opinion, I can understand why individuals would do so. The air quality there is so bad, it is understandable that certain people who do outdoor sports would want to not go because they don't think they can perform up to par.
As for, for instance, the U.S. boycotting the Olympics for political reasons, I think that is ridiculous. The Olympics are meant for us to get away from the political tensions, etc., and just compete on the field/road/court/track/etc. of play.

| I haven't read hardly anything about what's going on, but for the pollution, it is what it is: a level playing field. |

Boycotting the Olympics for political reasons is newsworthy, but it never accomplishes anything: No country has ever changed the way they do "x" because their Olympics were boycotted. These boycotts are nothing more than politicians grandstanding at the expense of the athletes.
