My sister, who lives overseas, will be visiting New York City and is looking for a running store near Time Square. Can anyone recommend one she can visit to get fitted for a pair of running shoes?
She's actually only going to be there for 1 day and is staying in a hotel just a couple blocks from Time Square so she doesn't want to have to travel too far.
If it matters, here is the hotel and address of the hotel:

| Paragon Sports is at 867 Broadway. It's a sporting goods store, but has a huge running section. It's also walkable/runnable to Time Square. |

Do you know if they will take the time to fit someone with a proper pair of running shoes, or are they more like a Sports Authority? |

I can't personally vouch for this store, but it was recommended by a group of racewalkers that train in NYC. It is near Central Park on the upper East Side and is about 3 miles from her hotel:

Here's a map from the hotel to the store:

It says they have a Staff of Fit Specialists who will analyze your running style and needs and make recommendations.
If she has the time it would be a beautiful walk through Central Park to get there! |
