          isn't there a sub 13:00 5k group on RA?

If not, we should start one......Shocked

            Meanwhile, in Missouri:

             I like running alone.

I was a little further back, but there you have it.

              Simpson, dueling with Roxbury:

Then, a blur of fast women:

              Lagat:

Is there a link to see Lagat's race?

                I put it under there.

Is there a link to see Lagat's race?

                  This looks right.

It should be mentioned that Lagat took that record from Galen Rupp.

Mr. Rupp, on the same day, took Lagat's 2 mile AR, running 8:09 and doing it with a crazy negative split. He went 4:07, 4:02 (solo).

Interview with Rupp after the race.

I figured it out this morning. Galen Rupp is the Kobe Bryant of the distance running scene, the white mamba. He thrives on the hate.

So many cool things happening in that race.  Ed Cheserek (Newark prep! Woot!), set a national record (high school) with a 13:57.  All the more impressive: He was totally alone and getting lapped by the lead pack (200m track).

Nadler - it looks like i was sitting right next to you section 465 row b. the whole meet was great but that 5000 was awesome.

Indeed! I was in 466.  What a night!

                            2-mile Rupp -------> Rupp vs. Lagat (3000m) <---------5000m Lagat

                            What say you all?

MTA: As for me, I'm rooting for Lagat for "emotional" reasons, but will give Rupp the edge.  He ran his AR run alone.  His second split shows he can finish fast and hold off the Lagat Surge.

The last time I looked at a race that way was the OT in Houston.  I rooted for Meb, but gave Hall the edge.  Whoops.

I'm looking forward to this.  Nice to see big dogs not avoiding each other in order to preserve their pricing power.

2013 goals:  Kick some arse.  Moreso than 2012.
