Big Sur (Read 692 times)

Back off!

Anyone else doing Big Sur this year???

I did it last year, but I can't swing it again.

Fun race and a beautiful course, hope you like hills and headwinds...

I'll be there, hoping to survive. I'm running Boston the week before, and Country Music the day before. Same as last year!

I'm hoping there won't be quite as much headwind this year. Last year it was unreal coming over Hurricane Point. Must've been 50, 60 mph?

I drove the course and felt tired!

          Maybe next year.

I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

          No offense.

Should have been minimum 74mph, no?

I ran it once without the wind.  Mo bettah without the wind.

            Ultima tastes like failure.

Could've been; I forgot my anemometer.

I'm gonna do it.  I did Mt Desert Island last year so I could do a "compare and contrast."

                Do not attempt.

Yeah. I likely wouldn't be doing this this year, but last year they didn't have the B2B thing. Also Big Sur is now a local marathon for me.

I asked what I'd get for running Boston + Big Sur, and CMM as well the day before... they said "Well....how 'bout we throw in one of our nice men's tech shirts and announce your name at the start?"

They did indeed send me an extra shirt. Which, oddly enough, I find myself wearing all the time. The last thing I'd think I needed was two shirts for the same marathon. I'll have to see whether they come through on the announcing my name part.

yah.  I'm doing B2B also... bhearn, I'll be listening for your name!

                      Back off!

Looking forward to it!   Love hills ... good thing since I can't get away from them here in Southern NH!   Headwinds ... yikes!  I'll take what I get - HURRICANE POINT should be a hint for people ... it's not called "gentle Aruba-like trade wind point"!  I am also doing Boston so it should be an interesting week.  I am pacing a friend for Boston for her first marathon so I will be running a sane pace.  Both hotels at expo area are sold out so I am not all set yet on where I am staying - if I want to shell out 999$ a night there is a beautiful cliff side place not far from the expo but that is a painful price tag!  We'll see ... any suggestions are welcome.  Hope to see you out there!

                          Bob you're a BEAST (again/still)!

that was nuts for sure -  Hurricane Point totally delivered
