Water Bottle Holder eating my Back (Read 648 times)

On my long runs I wear a Nathan Water Bottle holder (upright model) and it is rubbing a place on my lower back which would correlate to the middle of the holder. Anybody else have this problem and do you have a fix other than a new holder? Thanks for the input.

Move it so the bottle is at the side. It's easier to get to, too.

I've worn a Camelbak and an Amphipod Full-Tilt unit with a sideways laying bottle. Both will cause some minor chafing on my lower back. Simply smearing up the area with Body Glide before putting them on works perfectly.

I moved it to the side but still had chafing with it. Got a four bottle fuel belt and love it. Only thing solved this "itch I couldn't scratch".

HTFU. Scabs/calluses are good for you. I get the same thing with my Camelbak Flashflo, which has a waist belt, not shoulder straps. The aforementioned BodyGlide usually helps. So may two shirts, or experimenting with moving it up/down or side to side.
I have an Amphipod belt with smaller bottles and I haven't run into any chaffing problems yet. http://www.amphipod.com/8400/8400.html Maybe you could tighten yours a little so it doesn't move as much.
