Anyone running Crossroads in Midland/Odessa, Tx? (Read 142 times)

Oct. 4--it's the first year for it, from what I understand. The marathon is a BQ, and supposed to be fast. I'm doing the half--it will be my first. My nephew is doing the full--his second.

I grew up in the Pahnandle of TX -- and one year our HS won district and the first play off game and then had to go play them in the quarter finals.......

The game was over after 10 minutes ......Their Band could have played the second half for MOJO cause we were crushed....I think the final score in a quarter final game was 44-3....We weren't in the game in any shape or form......was really a disaster....for us... Wink

I grew up in Hereford - and got my degree from West Texas State.........RA is a small world

I live in Massachusetts now (central mass - about 30 miles west of Boston)

Wow--there's never anyone on any message boards from up here! Dh has family in Hereford. His cousins went to school there.

My brother lives in Hereford as do my nephew and his wife.... My other nephew lives in Big A - and is just finishing school at Amarillo College and will be transferring to West Texas soon (probably in the spring). I dont get back too often - was there about 2 1/2 years ago for my nephews wedding.....and before that was probably 10 years or so....but every time I come, I alway go the the "Big Texan' and get a 'real texas style meal'.......

Now Im getting homesick...... Cry

In the winter time I run in an official West Texas A&M Long sleaved T-shirt....thats my winter running shirt... Big grin

What years were you at WT? I was in Canyon from 78-89. Graduated from CHS in 88.

I graduated from West Texas in 1978......

Graduated from Hereford High in 1971......

Darn.....guess I left too early.......Graduated West Texas and had to go move on --- expand my wings.....

Canyon was a great place...I really liked it there and West Texas was a nice school....I had a lot of fun.....

Worked at Doc's Liquor Store in Amarillo and went to the Joker at nights.........Is the Joker (C&W Bar) still there?? -- Probably not.....

I lived in Lubbock for a few years as a small kid, then I went back and did my undergrad at Tech.

Anyway, had I known about Crossroads earlier in the year, I would have considered it... but I didn't, so I registered for Portland OR, which is much closer to me now.

As for Midland being fast. Sure. If the wind isn't in your face :).
With realistic Pants-on-Fire action!
