I ran my last segment this morning (8:30 am) before it got too hot (still in the 80s, though). I was surprised how good I felt - my legs weren't that heavy, I kept a steady pace, and I completed the 3.1 miles in under 31 minutes which means I broke a 10mm pace. That was a bonus because I wasn't really trying to do that, but I did.
When I was done, I was pretty tired, but after a couple minutes of cool down walking, I felt like I could've run some more. This stuff is great. |
In 2008, I have:
Started running in April
Completed Couch to 5K and One Hour Runner
Set PR in: 5k - 25:29 | 10k - 54:22 | HM - 12/13/08
Lost 27 lbs (8 to go)
In 2009, I will:
Run 1k miles
PR in 5k, 10k, and HM
Run my first Marathon - Nov. 14 - Richmond, VA

There's a local 5k in 3 weeks. $15. Great one to be my first.
Yeah, I'm nervous. Will sign up next week. |

Congratulations Yapper!
Running IS too cool isn't it? Take it nice and slow, and select your next training program to build your base miles, and the fun will only continue and get better!
Rest up and stay cool!!

Good stuff! Sounds like you've caught the running bug alright. Best of luck with your race and your training. Keep it fun and don't push for speed yet. My 2 cents.

Great job! Good luck with the race, and just enjoy it. Look around, talk to other runners, races are half of the fun for me.

Awesome job! The C25K program is the best! I'm a graduate and I have my DH on the program right now.
Please be sure to post a race report after you finish your first 5K. Beware though... if you think you're hooked on running now, wait until you start racing!!! |
