We can let the circumstances of our lives harden us so that we become increasingly resentful and afraid, or we can let them soften us, and make us kinder. We always have the choice.
Those are the people I emulate. I'd love to be a fraction that awesome. I wish I'd known about cyclocross 20 years ago....
I like this. I've recently had some life changing experiences that have forced me to "reassess" my values and I am currently seraching for "role models". For years I've been a lifter, but since my injury/surgery I've found a new love in running. Not to hijack your thread Z-Z, but the most profound change came from some "bad things" that happened to my wife and I seek guidance from Gandhi, Lama, Jesus, King...guys like that. I can appreciate feats of physical stamina/endurance, but my paradigm is changing as I become more of a runner than a lifter...Sorry, it's late...I'm tired. I'll shut up now, but I admire your conviction.
