Let's get this started for June, since it's only a day away. I am getting this months marathon out of the way early in an effort to concentrate on the race in Jay Vermont this July. I have to change my still and concentration a great deal. I will more then likely step up my miles by 20% and throw in more bike and beach runs. Below is my planned goal and race.

Race Name: RNR San Diego Marathon
Distance : 26.2
Date: 06/01/08
Location: San Diego, CA
Finish Time: sub 3:20
Goals: to go under 3:20 would be a PR and I feel it in my bones. Will update as soon as I can. Wish me luck.

Today was not my day. I was moody and not really into the run but overall not bad. I did not like the organization and the other runners were somewhat rude. Did I mention I was moody.

Sorry to hear the race was no fun for you at all. That's a shame, b/c the course sounded fun and I was kicking around doing that race next year.

My race is this Friday, so I will post all the vitals either then or Saturday. All things are looking good for a PR, but it's a long week of training and anything can happen.

Date: 06/01/08
Location: Lincoln, RI
Finish Time: 20:38 (per the clock - probably 5-6 secodns slower actual time)
Goals: My initial goal was to hope for sub-20:00 but it was just too hot. I couldnt find my groove and hold onto it at all for some reason.

Race Name: Hornet Hustle 5K
Distance : 3.1 miles
Date: 06/01/08
Location: North Reading, MA
Finish Time: 27:02 (revised)
Goals: hoped for 25:30 based on last months 6K time.

Race: Hot, hilly, and somewhat hungover Dead. Not pleasant, but survived. If nothing else, as my first 5K, it gives me an easy chance to break PR on my next 5K. According to the Garmin, I was able to break under 6mm on the downhill finish. Never touched that speed before. Felt queasy at finish, but held things together.

Lessons (hopefully) learned - Start out slower. Hot weather bites. Bourbon is not a sports drink.

I was moody yesterday and even though I am not recommending this one it still might be worth doing. Don't take my opinion for gospel. I was cruising the beginng then it kinda got boring and did not feel like running anymore. I was just in a good funk yesterday.

First ever trail race scheduled for this weekend. It should be an experience to remember! No specific goals, just run the hills and not fall down. Smile Valley Crest half marathon.

Finish Time: 24.07
Goals: To be faster than last year (26.25) Smile To go under 24mins Sad

This race goes out along the waterfront for about 1.5k before turning up a very steep bush track for about 800m. Back down isn't quite so steep and takes about 1k then its about 700m on the beach (soft sand) before the last 1km back along the waterfront path. Its certainly not a PR race!
