August Mileage Goal (Read 500 times)

    Tomorrow begins a new month.  Post your mileage goal for the 8th month of the year.


    If you have any other goals for August, let's hear those, too!

      My Goal is 230 miles, I will be tapering halfway as I am about to embark on the Ridgeway 85 mile challenge on 28/29 August.

       

      The Ridgeway Path is a 5,000 year old and an ancient trade route that bisects the southern part of England. I am so excited about this adventure run and is the pinnacle of my running challenges so far.

        Getting back in shape... Just need it to be a skinnier shape... 

          Goal 1: 160 miles.

          Goal 2: run two 5K's and lower my PR.

          Goal 3:  Baby #3.  wife is scheduled for C-section on 8/5.

           

          ok, so maybe the goals aren't listed in the right order.

           

          but with some time off work, I should be able to hammer out some miles.

            Goals for me.

            1. 220 miles

            2. 5k PB

            3. Get under 55kg (121lbs)

            3. And a seriously stretch goal - break 20mins for 5k - probably dependent on achieving (1) and (3) above!



              Let's say 240 to 250 quality miles. No races on tap although I'm thinking about finding a tri to do for fun. It had better be fun because I haven't swam laps in 15 years and my bike mileage has gone in the crapper ... though I still feel great when on it.
                This might be a slight stretch, but I would love to hit 225 for the month.

                Have you qualified for Boston? I want to interview you!

                      OK - easiest one done for me.  Now for the others!

                        1.  180 miles

                         

                        2.  by the end of the month run some hills without straining something

                         

                        3.  add core work at least 3x a week and set myself up for some hard stuff in September

                         

                        completing all 3 would be great.

                        I fly.

                          I want my hip to stop hurting.  Then I can run hundreds of miles.  Until then, I hope that I can get 100 in.

                              Did 160 in the July heat so that seems like a reasonable goal for August.  So put me down for 160.1
