Tricia- How's the knee doing? Do you have swelling or just pain? Hope after a couple of rest days it will be better!!!
Hey Alan, thanks for asking The knee is ... okay. It doesn't hurt now, but does hurt when I'm running It's pain, bottom outside area. I'm going to keep resting and icing (booo) and probably make an appointment with Univ of Md Sports Medicine. I told James I was thinking about it, and he said "well, that's why we have health insurance." I want to find a doc that understands how important running is, and not say "well, find something else to do." How have you been?
By the way, Alan, I have been reading Hal Higdon's book Marathon: the ultimate training guide (um, not so much). In it he quotes an Alan Ford from Loganville, Georgia. Now, I have a hard time believing such a coincidence is possible, but given that you're the only Alan F in Georgia I know of, thought I'd mention it.
Hey Dave... yes sir... that is me.
This is without permission from Higdon, but given that Alan said it, I'll assume he's okay : Alan Ford, Loganville, Georgia"I began running when I started a new job and most of my coworkers were runners. I started running with them at lunch, and a 5-K race led to a 10-K race, and that lead to a half marathon. I was hooked, and you know what happened after that." Hal Higdon, Marathon: The ultimate training guide. Advice, Plans, and Programs for your 1st Marathon or 50th, Rodale, 2005. There may be another quote attributed to you as well. I can't quite remember.
