Moving up from 1,000 mile group (Read 104 times)

    Just thought I would post a note that I'm joining the group.

     

    Moving up from the 1,000 mile group from last year which was my first year to really set any kind of a mileage goal.  I ended up with 1,357.3 for 2012 so I'm looking at 1,500 for 2013 as a pretty good number for me.  Starting out the first 4 months with a training plan for my first marathon, so I'm hoping to get out in front of the bunny a good bit in these first 4 months and then hang on from there.

     

    Of course I need to get over this cold and get out and start running pretty soon!

    2013 Goal #1 - Sub 4 hour First Marathon - 3:48:09 at the Flying Pig 5/5/13!

    2013 Goal #2 - Run my age in 10K.  PR 6/8/13 - 46:59

            I think I'm in a similar boat to Nathan's.  I put 1,000 miles for the year in my signature, but now I'm thinking that with training for an early November marathon, 1,000 miles is selling myself a little bit short.  I'm going to shoot for 1,500 and so far I'm on pace to hit that goal.

            2013 Goal #1: Sub 2:00 half marathon (goal race on 2/24/13) Colonial Half Marathon - 1:45:46

            2013 Goal #2: Finish first marathon (goal race 11/10/13) [#2a: Sub 4:00]

            2013 Goal #3: Run 1,500 miles over the course of the year.

                Halfway there in just a few days over 3 months!!  I'm smoking the pace bunny right now.

                 

                I've moved my personal goal to 2,000 miles this year for now, not 100% sure what my plans are after this marathon training cycle, but I think I should have a pretty good shot at 2,000 since I've gotten such a good head start on it.
