A deer kamikazed the front of my car since then I have eaten as much venison as possible, my theory is eat them before they get you.

And, yeah, it's tasty. Especially the young and the does. So if it was not so tasty, no need to feel bad. Probably a tough old buck with the metatarsal glands left on before butchering.
