Not that big a deal. They run the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere. Helps offset the Coriolis effect.

Let me clarify....it's a 2 lane track. I wanted to mow down every single one of them but that thing I like to call a conscious told me no.

It's a weaksauce track at a middle school. The high school track is mostly taken due to football games.

2 lane track?? Now if you were on a 8-lane rubberized track and someone was going backward in lane 1, then there is some ettiquite issues.

2 lane dirt figure-8 track, no rules.

What bothers me is why they think it's beneficial? It's bad enough when you have to pass someone going the right way, but that happens every so often. When you're running the opposite way you cross paths every minute!
