The irony of it all is that you're the same people who like words like "diversity." .

Word.

mta: "Word" as in "right." Not as in correcting your use of the word "words." No offense. Sorry in advance, etc.

The real reason I left had nothing to do with gas prices, or anything Marcus said. It had to do with the nasty tone that a seemingly innocent thread quickly took. The fact is, I knew people would get offended at some point. And in the GSP, we've seen what happens when they do. But here.... I never expected it here. And the way people have been treating others is just beyond me. Well, I've had it. Candice may say some things that aren't real dumb, just like the rest of us. This doesn't mean she needs to be attacked personally, and by a group of people. At least she apologized and tried to make right, which is more than can be said for others.

I think you meant to say that I say things that ARE real dumb. But you're right, I apologized. It doesn't matter though because people now randomly start threads in an attempt to get other people pissed off at me (and Tanya too in this case). Or for another example, if I dare make fun of all the running gadgets people use in one paragraph, i'm being sarcastically bitchy. It doesn't occur to anyone that I was trying to be funny, just a bitch... because of course my number one goal is to offend everyone on the forum, again Roll eyes There's apparently some deep repressed anger toward me still from the fat thread.

I refuse to argue about a running skirt, so I didn't give my opinion, or respond when things somehow got directed toward me anyway. Fighting about me calling overweight people disgusting actually made sense.... fighting about running skirts and being personally attacked for no reason does not.

I hate most women in real life.... so it's obvious i'd clash with most of the women on here too, and that they'd all hate me for life, and continue to gang up on me and attack, even after i've apologized for my original mistake.

Whatever. I'm done here too. This isn't fun anymore. I'm off to JK and Scout land.

I could care less what peeps think of my skirt, but I love the look on the women's faces when I walk up and receive my award at local races. I gotta posts pics though.

The black and gold one.

These are old, I think I have posted pics on most of my new ones.

I love the EMT's trying to touch their toes in that PIC. Big grin

Dave, every post you put up makes me more upset that I didn't get to meet you last October in Columbus. I'm pretty sure I saw you across an escalator, but alas...

I too was emailed about the running skirt thread because I missed it yesterday as it unfolded.

JK and Scout are right. I am just glad to read Scout's departure was not directly my fault (Thanks Scout).

I am not going to call out names or point fingers but some folks are extremely sensitive for whatever reasons. That doesn't make them bad people, but maybe the swamp is somewhere they should avoid.

The whole Candice "fat" thread was fucked up. Some people took what she wrote as a personal attack when it clearly was not. Now what Candice wrote might have been ill thought and short sighted but it contained no evil intent towards anyone on this board. The resulting nuclear personal attack on Candice was uncalled for. I am not defending what she wrote, but people come on.

The running skirt thread was essentially of the same nature, and the same shit happened. Feelings got hurt, things got wrote that were probably not meant, and the rest of us are sitting staring at our screens saying "WTF?" (although I wasn't present when the skirt thread was going, which is a good thing because of what I likely would have posted)

If you're that sensitive it's ok. It really is. But stay away from the swamp if you can't handle it. It's the internet. You can choose to stay or go. You don't have to read the pure bullshit that's posted in the swamp and you don't have to post more bullshit on top of it.

The swamp is less about running and more about picking on each other over the internet which in itself is fucking lame. But, it gives some of us reasons to laugh out loud at work and you can't put a value on that.

So, tread lightly herein if you're easily offended or thin skinned.
