More Cowbell!
When you're on your deathbed, you won't be wishing that you'd spent more time at the office. But you will be wishing that you'd spent more time running. Because if you had, you wouldn't be on your deathbed.
Door County Fall 50 mile relay (Mixed Masters)- I have been allocated leg #3 / #8
#3 has the toughest hill of the day - Don't they know I am a flatlander -
Its funny - Kathy our captain is all strategic / intense - All I want to do is finish as fast as I can to get to the beer.
Goal - Drink more beer than relay miles (11.1) - So it looks like I will need 12 beers.

ToT13K
Race: Soaring Wings Half Marathon
Location: Conway, Arkansas
Goal: Hmmm...
I'm the RD, so my first goal is obviously a successful race, that all volunteers show up, no one is seriously hurt, and we still net over $30K. From a racing perspective, I'm racing my company's CFO again this year. He beat me last year, but I think I stand a chance. Likely will run right at 1:30:00 again... PR is 1:30:14 or something like that and I ran a 1:32 last year.
Hometown AG win.
It's taper tweeking week for me!
10/25 Mason City, IA
"On the Road for Education" Marathon
I want to start out slow (6:20 pace) I would like to run between 6:08-6:05 pace and work down to 5:55pace, but I'm going to run more by effort, there is about 8-9 miles of gravel roads and trails so that will be interesting to see how that changes my pace. I know I could run a 2:38 marathon on a good day.
Right now the forcast has 30% chance of precip with a low of 34 and high of 46; looks good to me. The weather can change fast in Iowa so if it ends up with 40mph winds and snow I will be happy with a 2:50 marathon.
It would be cool to win...
Top 21 times and year:
2:39:37 - '05 Christopher Jensen (Mason City native) ran a 2:29 marathon (at Boston '07); also ran a 33:31 10k this year... Good competition if he shows up.
2:40:02 - '07 Christopher Jensen
2:45:33 - '03
2:46:11 - '03
2:51:34 - '04 Dick Beardsley

3:03:57 - '03
3:04:06 - '07

Riggs, did I get your goal right? If so, that is a ballsy, no-holds-barred race goal. Good luck, man!
OMG I am Tweaking... I can't believe I wrote 2:28... I should have wrote 2:38... But I want to sand bag this goal 2:45 or win.
I thought you were trying to take out Smoopie.
How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

Still a sweet goal.
