Not that I'm racing my workouts but... (Read 171 times)

Today I ran one of my most frequently used loops. You all have them. These are the loops you could do in your sleep. You know every step of that loop. 90% of the time these are the loops you use for your easy or "just mileage" runs. Today I did my 8.3 mile "Norden Rizzo" loop. It's a long story why it's named that, but it has to do with the fact that I now live in the town where I went to high school (another long story) and this loop includes parts of two old loops we used to run for track. Anyhoo. Since I've been keeping an online log, I've run the Norden Rizzo 210 times. I've actually run it a lot more times than that since I bought my house in 2000 and didn't start using an online running log for two more years after that--but I have records of 210 Norden Rizzos. Today was my 5th fastest Norden Rizzo in recorded history. 5th fastest out of 210. This was not a workout or even a tempo run. It was slightly harder than a normal easy run, owing to the fact that I didn't really do a mid-week workout this week so I was kinda fresh and wanted to let my legs run a little. 5th fastest ever. And the only one under an hour since I've begun this little comeback. And it was way under an hour. And it was easy. It's just a run and it's not even a workout. But something's going on here and it's good. As Trent would say, Just sayin'.

    Runners run.

Nice, Mike. I love runs like that, when it all comes together. When's your next race, again?
Nothing better then coming back home from a workout and realizing how solid it was and how good you felt doing it. Sounds like you are getting into racing shape and that the PR hunt will soon be on in your upcoming races.

        keep running.

Yay Mikey! I concur with Bakeller's reply. Well said there Bakey. Smile I think it totally shows you've gotten some nice strong legs there or thea' (as you'd say in Boston). Progress progress! Progress on a regular mileage run (your easy pace is damn near close to my V02max Roll eyes ...) is such a wonderful blessing. Woooo hoo! daps
running until I hit 1900 miles for the year. whether fast or slow I will just run.

          You'll ruin your knees!

Awesome! It is always great to get such positive feedback on your hard work! Lynn B
