    FIFY.

So I'll see you next year right?

BTW I find it really f'd up that I only see you when we both fly halfway across the country to Nashville.   Of course I dont run anymore really, but still.

      Yep.

i don't even know you people and I'm considering the Monkey for next year. The forces of persuasion here are scary.

But really, I'm looking for a fall race. I've been considering Chicago, GMM- even NC-24. So far, Nashville's the only destination that has perked the husband's ears.  But damn it looks painful.

        Bless your heart.

          Painful yes.

But the side bennies are worth it.

Or you can do one of the rock & roll things. They're really good if you have too much money and need to get rid of some of it.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Yeah.  I refuse to spend $135 on my local marathon.  Instead I fly , rent a car, get a hotel for 4 nights and only spend $80 for the marathon part.  Those rat bastards arent getting my money.

My 2/24 marathon is RnR. But I got off cheap since Brees actually threw a few touchdown passes during one of their home games. $5 off per completed pass got me in for $55.

I've been through this thread three times now, and I'm still laughing, knowing that every time Ennay reads this it goes through her head as

                  "Nevah.

                  Evah.

                  Evah.

What you have failed to learn yet is that you cannot train for Monkey ...

Seriously - It is just like ultra-running,  Walk the ups, jogs the downs ...

They have an early start option for those who feel bad about not getting one of the 1st beers at noon -

I tried not training this year.  IT DIDN"T FRICKIN WORK !! My legs are still sore, almost two weeks later.

Walk the ups, jog the downs.  By the end the downs were more painful than anything else - walking or jogging.  Gravity sucks.

And even with the early start I still missed the keg tapping and most of the Hefeweizen.

You PROMISED me we were going to run more this year.  At least so we could die more quickly next year.

                  Misty

Well hell. One of my Facebook friends apparently runs the Monkey as his annual race. Now I'm being inundated with gorgeous scenery and awesome race swag pics. Is this like when parents continually tell their kidless friends how fantastic parenthood is? And what we don't tell them is that is sucks a whole lot of the time, but we just want then to join the club so we have someone who "gets it".

                    Bless your heart.

                      Who is the FB friend?

Look how happy we all were. Of course this was before we ran it...

                        That's me in the back.

                          Still Happy afterwards too!

                          Monday kinda hurt though.

Wow it's gorgeous up there! I've been In that area, but not in the fall.
