I'm Confused (Read 540 times)

Eugene is great, but it's on the same day as Big Sur, so it always loses.

Hey so I decided on Eugene. Woot woot.

You gonna come eat Mexicans with me after?

Absolutely.  Maybe I'll come down and run the half.  That should have us finishing at about the same time. Maybe if I work really really hard I can beat Ben.

When Ben ran 2:28 in Illinois he burst through the middle of his sister and future brother-in-law at mile 25 while they were at mile 12 in the half. I guess that doesn't go over well.

Anyway, you absolutely should. How far away do you live? I require that you be there the entire weekend.

How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

That is such an awesome, slightly asshole thing that I would do if I was that fast.

I will endeavor to stay ahead of Ben.  Although I dont think I could right now.  There we go.  that is my Spring race goal.  Not get passed by Ben.  I promise to not get my feelings hurt if I dont.

I'm a little over 2 hr drive from there.  Unless it is Friday evening then I am about 5 hours from there (seriously, if you guys fly in Friday afternoon if you dont make it south of Salem by 3 pm, you might as well just park it until after 7 pm) .  What are your plans?

I dont think I have ever actually been IN Eugene.  Weird.

Regarding travel time, oh hell yes.  I have taken the train to eugene and I have driven to eugene... and the train mo bettah unless I'm needing to drive around in eugene.  That stretch of road just SUCKS.

(side note, my middle name is Eugene.  Well, in spanish.  Family name.  I'm the VIII.  Please stay out of eugene.  mahalo)

He's only going to run the half at Eugene. So you'd have to greatly improve as a runner. Do you think you can run a 1:08-1:09? If so I say go for it.

Coach only wants him to do a half in the spring so that he can maybe improve upon his new 2:26 in the marathon come next fall. Keeping him fresh and what not.

Whew.  So now all I have to do is beat you.

I think I can do a sub 3 half at Eugene.  Maybe.  If I sprint to the finish.

Either way I'll make my goal.  Unless he starts at the very back of the pack i will not be PASSED by him.  I win.

Oh come on now, it's not that bad. I did that drive once a week for a couple of years. Almost always about 2 hours, and OK, maybe it's a bit boring, but no big deal. I-5 is fast through there. It's not like going through Seattle or Tacoma.

Longest it ever took was 4 hours, and that was during a record-breaking ice storm.

Sweet!  That gives me incentive to get my butt in shape so I can do long runs with you again.  I'll need someone to kick my ass on a 20 miler as I'd like to do a spring marathon.

So Mexicans - I'm gonna guess they don't taste like chicken.

Foot actually held up for a decent 10 miles today.  I could feel it getting fatigued and sore towards the end so I backed off and happy with today's outcome.  One step closer Smile

While you're one step closer...my foot is getting worse. Stupid plantar!

I did make it 16 miles today though, while gritting my teeth with each step after about 10 miles...
