Only a 1 hr. difference in starts so I only get 20+ mins to recover; go big or go home

Felt good at the downhills and every time I poured water over me, but when that passed, I just wanted to keep running til it was over. Last year I got 4OA and 2AG. (5yr age groups). This year I got 4OA and 3AG (still 5yr age groups). That amuses me.

First marathon.
I think I ran a good race, I just didn't have enough miles. I maintained pace almost perfectly until 33km, then just didn't have it left.

I know 18 something 5K is there so I will be back.
I think I scored highest on my team and I beat my boss by 30 seconds so i'm okay with today even though secretly I had hoped to run faster than 19:26. 5ks just aren't my bag.

Ok, I way overestimated my ability and my recovery from the double marathons. I ran smarter today, negative split both races I think.
I need to recover, regain speed and race. I have a goal for next year now
58:41
Victory. 1st in AG with a time of (whisper) 58:41 or something like that. Held off second by 90 seconds or so. I have a fancy plaque.
22 miles in about 3:45 today, more moderate, but still some good up and down.
Pros: More miles and good workouts under my belt
Cons: More miles and good workouts under my belt
Bolder Boulder isn't the fastest course, especially with a net elevation gain, but it wasn't as hilly as I expected from what I had heard. Mostly just a pacing issue, was way to conservative the whole race and had way to much in the tank. Probably could have run that pace for another 4+ miles I suspect.
Oh well, only my second 10k ever so I still have lots of learning to do.

On hindsight gunning for a marathon PR 3 weeks before this event was probably not the smartest thing I've done

Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

Good point - please add Memorial Day too.
Race on a Monday...ack! One of these holidays I'll be at home with my kid watching Spongebob and eating chocolate chip pancakes.

Put me down for the same as Willie (Brian Kraft, <20)
Ideally i'd like to run under 19:26 since that was my last 5k time...but we'll just say sub 20.
How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

Fast is better than long
When I rodeo'd we called the 4th of July weekend Cowboy Christmas, because a rider could enter so many events over the weekend to increase their bank for the y/e finals. I'm bringing that to running this Memorial Day weekend. Might sneak in a fun Sunday event too, stay tuned.

Looks like you will be putting your new shoes to good use this weekend ;-)
Yay, Pauly! I will be at Ridge Run, too. It is a cool race.
Sunday you can do Bike the Drive. Get out there first thing and all of Lake Shore Drive is yours to hammer on.

Oooohh, then I get to say I did triathlon training too. Maybe I can chance an open water swim too.
If you chop 30 seconds off every 8 minutes it will only take 10 hours and 40 minutes to get that goal down to 0:00 flat.
Mmm hmmmm.

I haven't honestly raced a 5k in almost two years. This should be fun.
Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.
