Alive & Running
Bring, bring your green hat, let's go. (Quick, name that reference).
My old consecutive days of running streak was tied today at 217 days. The old streak was soft and needed to be killt as the miles over that 217 day duration was only 2,814.3. The new streak of 217 days is vastly superior at 3,265. Long live the new streak!
Fast is better than long
Long live the new streakER!
Congrats, not stop being a slave to the streak

It's one of those good / bad things. I have never ran more than 180ish days in a row. To me the pure stupidity is to run injured or the same day as finishing a 100 mile race or futher.
Some days if it is only slightly counter productive to training - That seems OK to get all those days where it is a benefit to get you ass out there. I would guess 1 or 2 days out of each 100 are just stupidity.
Usually my streaks end on a really hung over day where there would be a benefit to running.
Yeah, there were quite a few runs that just served as detoxifiers after a long night of drinking. Hangover is always gone or much improved after those runs. Will never do something dumb like keep the streak alive if I'm injured. Was fortunate to be able to eek out a mile after FANS but then again, if I'd have done what I set out to do at that damn race I probably wouldn't have been able to walk for a few days. Would've gladly sacrificed the streak for that goal.
Yes - If you had been able to juice it the whole way at FANS - That would have been one of those times it is stupid to keep a streak alive.
I am not a streaker - But I appreciate "The Streak"
@BeachesRunner
My streak will end today. at 180. Ankle needs a real rest. Last few days have been 3 short painful runs. Stupid. I am already enjoying not slaving to the streak.
My streak will start today. If I can stand to put pressure on my heel. Blister still hurts after Western States. Legs feel good!
"Way to make Borat look overdressed"
Stupid. Ankle felt better so I went out at 10:30 last night for a short run - to keep the streak, and slavery, alive.

I got nothing here... except that apparently you're going Old School.

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”
I don't get it either -- I doubt you are referring to the green hat I wore at Bay to Breakers.
Accountants in the day, wore green shades? They're the kinda geeks who like numbers. (so sayeth the accountant)
Once upon a time when I ran, I tried the streaking thing, a couple of times. 247 and 232 days, being the longest? Ended one with a stress fracture and the other just because.
