Summer Solstice Watermelon Run
44:00
Summer Solstice Watermelon run and done! Every runner gets a t-shirt and a watermelon. I also won my ag so I got a medal and pair of running shorts (size large).
Bad Marsh Night Ultra
Beaufort SC
I ran most of the first four of seven laps with runnerclay (good going Ron) that time passed quickly. However, running in the dark is crap! Once it got dark...blah.
A nice, very well run / organized race. Flat course. Very hot / humid.

I have an immense new respect for what it takes to earn a bronze buckle. This was maybe the hardest thing I've ever done. I didn't get the silver, but I am damn proud of finishing, and I will treasure my buckle.

OCD If you don't laugh ...
EYS 5k
Saddle Brook, NJ
Goals: 1OA and PR
I've raced this young, local race 2 of the 4 years it's been run. I came in 2nd and 3rd those years. My friends are mocking me to no end over my inability to win. There's a 4:52 miler in it this year. His 5k PR is 17:40. But since it's a 10:30 start, he might melt and I might not. You never know.

First attempt at anything longer than 50k. Goal is 11 hours, but seriously, if I finish I will be ecstatic!
PS - I haven't lit up for years
MTA: It is not a trail, it is a fairly flat route along a multi-purpose pedestrian path.
Well, you're on to something. I might be able to score a bee bee gun. All I'd have to do is brandish - OMG. Jeff, he was aiming for you!
Or give him a shove.

Just lost my awesome pacer. Damn.
Whoops. That's the danger of playing Scrabble with R2E. You start taking her jokes literally.

Beast run was tonight. Didn't take it seriously so wouldn't have been in contention anyway. Only drank 4 beers during my 6 loops. Was sober enough to drive home afterwards if I'd had a car. Maybe next year I'll go for the win. This year with the overcast it got dark early so the winner I think only ran 7 or 8 laps (9 or 10 beers).
Actual race this week will be (once again) Back Cove 5k. Still want a season PR that I completely screwed the pooch on last week. So, aiming for sub-18:18 on Wednesday night.
Race: Back Cove 5k
Night: Wednesday, 6/20
Goal: Sub-18:18
Location: Portland, ME
Run to Win23 Marathons, 10 Ultras, 16 States (Full List)
You don't need a pacer. Really. If you can't run without one, maybe you will get lucky last minute with this. Or you can roll into Foresthill and announce that you need a pacer. There is usually someone there that is looking to pace.
"Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood." -Daniel Burnham
Yeah. I did my first 100 without a pacer. And yes, I've heard there will always be people ready to pace at Foresthill. But she was such gonna be such a great pacer; I was looking forward to running with her.
