I'd go...with my cameras and a press pass. RA needs someone to document any members who try that, right...? Big grin k

K, I think you should also be there to provide warmth at the end. Blankets are nice.

Oh, Hell, yes. I got wood just reading that.
imagine the sort of marathon obstacle course the meanest drill sergeant in the Marines would design if ordered to send an undisciplined mob of gay, flag-burning, smart-ass college boys through an afternoon of agony
Oh, fu*k, yeah. Where do I sign up? I just bought a lottery ticket - if I hit it big, first thing I'll do is sign up for this mother. That looks like more fun than you should legally be allowed to have. Hooh-fuckin'-rah. Note to the dumbass author, though: The Marine Corps has drill instructors - not drill sergeants. And there is no such thing as an "ex-Marine." Sheesh. How about a little research, people? Watching that video made my whole week. Thanks, Scout.

A former-Marine once explained to me that an "ex-Marine" is an actual term, but implies a dishonorable exit from the Marine Corp. Is this true?

Ok, this is a stretch....but. Is this sabershooter? This guy shows up just after 3/4 from the end of the video, and bears an amazing resemblance to our former leader. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

In. For me the biggest fear to overcome would be getting hemmed in by the crowds waiting for some of the obstacles. Otherwise that looks like a friggin blast.

JK, Good, I thought I was the only sick fool who was getting...."excited" over reading the descriptions. One of the coolest things was the finisher medals, too (the photo of the '06 medals was sweet-looking). We got a couple RA people in England, right? Maybe they could house us for the event. Party for a few days leading up to it, do the event, then go out on the town after. I remember about a year ago I saw an article about a race that involved snorkeling through a bog. That one sounded fun, too.

                    You'll ruin your knees!

No need to travel so far from home for a death race! There's one in Canada! http://www.canadiandeathrace.com/v2/MainPage.html From the website..."You might time out because of weather, you might time out because of an injury, and you may even time out because of a bear. It may break your heart to be taken off the course but lets not pull kick and scream over it. Besides we don't want you to embarrass yourself."
