I haven’t done any specific practice for this, so no reason to expect much different result than last month’s 5:07, but sub 5 seems as good a goal as any.

Alive & Running
I'll post my pacing gig here, just because it's amusing to me. I'm pacing the 1:35 group at the Lady's Speedstick Half Marathon in Bloomington, MN on Sunday, 8/26. I think this women's only race, so it makes me concerned that the RD wanted me to pace. The RD must think I'm some Eastern European woman or something. Good thing I shave my legs but may have to do some touch up just to be ready for Sunday.
French 5K - final trail race of the Endless Summer Trail Run Series. My training as been sukky this season but I'm coming along. I'd like to feel fast even if for 3 something miles.
Don - I saw your entry and was thinking, isn't that a nothing but chicks race? Well maybe you do have a fan club that you don't know about and now they all get to chase you. Hey, that's a good thing. Help them get their goal time and think about all the beers they will buy for you.

BH - I feel your frustration with the achilles. I've been battling this PF crap since spring. I await the day where I can run beyond the mileage of a couch potato to 5K program. Take care of it, don't want to linger any longer than need be.

Maybe you should try waxing, it lasts longer and is really not THAT painful

Yeah, I think they had trouble finding a gal that was willing or able to pace 1:35 so they got the next closest thing...me!
Oh, and Bhavna will be there watching to make sure I don't do anything other than pace these chicks. If things go awry you'll see me with a frying pan bruise on my forehead at our next training run.
