I'm scared now Thunder. Thanks. Tongue
Is it too late for you to change your mind and run something else? See what others think, Mikey, Jeff, and many others have given you some good advice so far w/ your training and it's paying off. You don't want to be a workout hero...be a race hero! Save your good runs for the race (I never do either). What about the 11.2 + Radnor? That's a good run. Tough since you are doing the 11.2, but it won't make you feel like you've had a marathon effort.

Time for the relaunch.  Stay tuned....

    We've Got Big Hills

Thunder, we actually have an "event" that incorporates a double 11.2. Just sayin.

I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

I will do the Monkey one of these days. I promise.

Good to know...and I agree, I do dumb stuff all the time too! Just not the 11.2 x 2. I'd actually like to do it sometime...I just won't do it leading up to a marathon i'm trying to BQ or PR at. It would be it's own event for me.
I'm actually planning a couple even dumber things. We'll see what happens at the end of April. I fully expect either a big PR or a complete implosion. One of those. But yeah, I don't know about the 2 X 11.2 less than a month before a BQ goal marathon. Them hills is big.

Jeff, Mikey? (although I don't think Mikeys ever ran the 11.2?)

How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?

Jeff ran it a couple times. The first time, running the 2 x 11.2 led to an instant PR.

He can give you advice on doing a brutaly hilly training run that will keep you on your feet for about the same time as your marathon goal. JK, when Jeff did the 11.2 x 2 it was while he was doing his race....not in training for his race. All I'm trying to say is that doing 11.2 x 2 is pretty much putting your body through a marathon. You'll need time to recover, and it's not the best thing in leading up to a marathon race. Now for someone like Casa, or Chuck Engle , who runs a marathon like every other week....that's a different story. Course even the mighty CE got injured both times shortly after doing the monkey.

Time for the relaunch.  Stay tuned....

I hate to say it, but I agree w/Thunder. 11.2x2 is risky, especially with all those mile markers encouraging you to run a little faster. That doesn't mean it's not good, just that it's risky because it really is a marathon-ish effort. There have been plenty of runners much better than I that run 30+ miles in training regularly--but given your tendency to push too hard, my sense is that you're better off being conservative. 11.2+5.8 is really good, though.

You know I love you, dude. I think the striders should organize a race like this one.
