2000 miles of glute weakness

Where's the BadDawg thread at? (Read 1743 times)

bhearn, I don't remember, did I touch your pants?

Nope. Must be why I didn't go out and run a 5K the next day.

I'll just mention in passing that BadDawg got a hug from me, and then went on to race his shiny new sub-three marathon PR moments later, and had the energy to race a 5k the next morning as well.

Another Ilene hug for me, another sub-3!

While we're at it who is going to start the bhearn thread?  Dude ran only his 2nd sub 3 and a PR two years after retiring from marathons...(which is interesting from several angles.)

Retiring from training, you mean. I have run 34 marathons since Boston '09.

You can save the bhearn thread for when I run 2:55 in the fall.

That's all I'm sayin'.  Cheers to BadDawg.

      Yes.

and respect - thats a great race. gotta feel good.

"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”

I just think the man deserves his own thread is all.

Yep. Did some nice running, that one.

         I like running alone.

I could care less about Eight ball discussions - But I raise my glass to BadDawgs performance!

I raise my glass and my eyes to BadDawg, period.

I did not think BadDawg posted a goal

            But Wannabe did?

              I'm not sure I could.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

              Not in Chicago

Bad Dawg is my hero.  Got to Crossroads late and he first asks me about my race.  Then I have to specifically ask him about his race and he says it was "good".  Then he grudgingly tells me about it, knowing how my race went.  And he was just cool about the whole thing.  Not to mention he's bellied up at the bar next to no one other than his own son, who apparently at age 20 something still thinks the old man is pretty cool to hang around with.

I, too, want to be Bad Dawg when I grow up.

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

Y'all are much too kind, what a bunch of boobs.  I can't begin to tell you how much RA and the Swamp have meant to my running, but I'm quite certain there's no way in hell that I break three (at Boston no less...) without hanging out here (and getting that unforgettable hug from ilene).

There have been so many people who have helped me directly and indirectly, with tips, techniques and inspiration.  Jim Howe who called me out in the GSP as a runner with "talent" who could do much better if I was willing to work at it.  The absolutely amazing DB , A1 with what has to be the most remarkable arc of improvement I can imagine, the Schneiders, Rick Velich gutting out a finish at Glass City Marathon on a fractured leg, the Duel In The Swamp, Tater v. Train, Jeff's preparation for a great run at Baystate, Doug's ridiculous determination, etc, etc, etc

It was a very good run at Boston, it would be hard to describe how happy it made me.  If it turns out to be the high water mark of my running I think I'll be fine with it, but that doesn't mean I won't try like hell to raise the bar before my tired old legs give up on me.

For the record, the numbers say HappyFeet was right.  Wannaberunner is better at this game than I am and has only been at it for a very short time.  Kudos to her, the SFCEB belongs on her cartoon mantel not mine.  I will take you up on your offer of free beer HF, but fear not for the well being of your refund because the tall PBRs at Hookslides are only two bucks.

Thanks very much mikey, and extra special thanks to The Great And Powerful Eric for making all of this possible.  Keep it rollin'.

The fact that my name is even mentioned here is mind boggling.  Thanks, but man, you are the one who has been an inspiration.  The improvement that you have made in the last couple of years is good stuff.  Sub 3 couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.  Congrats!

Sorry for being late to the party here...but cheers to BadDawg...amazing!

                      Thunder smash!

Nice going Dawgie. Very very impressive.

(Head shaking) Geez!  Even you have this wrong!  When I've been hanging out here a while and posting my goals hopefully I will earn it but it's all you!!!  You are too humble and kind.  Crazy and cool, too.  It was great meeting you!

I also want to say how impressed I was with the guys who had a tough race and still showed up at the pub.  I hope to follow your example in the future if I bonk.  Someday it will happen.

What Ltrain said, when I saw him after Boston I think I was more excited than him about his time. But seriously, Baddawg is good people, he lets me chase him weekly at the Good Times Series and Track Workouts

                            And have a few PBR's

Congrats on the new 5k PR BadDawg!!!
