Heh. Legs, what would Candice Schneider do?
Heh.

How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?
break'n three
Yes we are.
Congrats!!! Must be something to running a 5k every week. Congrats on being the series champ too...that's pretty cool. Nobody else PRd as much as you, right?
Tell me about it..and he is in the middle of marathon training...the old dude's gonna break 17 before the end of the year
Not in Chicago
Ahh... I remember the time I kept up with BadDawg. For about 100 yards. I just kept thinking, man is is hair pretty. Then I came out of my trance and thought "What the hell am I doing?"
Alas, that race did not end well for me, predictably.
You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.
Just awesome work, BD. You've almost inspired me to get off my ass and start training for the 5k.
Runners run.
And he can drink like an Irishman. There's much to envy.
Doughboy
I'd wager that 71, oops, 73 13.1 milers so far this year has had some impact, too.
And, the thing is, whenever I see him he's always saying something good about somebody else. Always.
Consistency is a very important part of being a runner.
The process is the goal.

"What a great day, decided last minute to run a 10k promoting awareness of homeless veterans. Crossed paths with Mike Girouard who was out for a run, and had Bryan Quinn honking and yelling for me (I was sorely tempted to jump in the bed of his pickup at that point...) and wound up second overall. Got a great laugh when my buddy Jason put me in the official results and was announced as Water Buffalo. To make things even better, I had another "don't be an a**hole" moment before it was too late to do anything about it. Was running the course backwards to cool down, and saw a runner struggling in with about 1.5 mile to go. Said "nice work", got about 50 yards past him when the a-hole alarm started sounding. Turned around, caught up with him and trotted to the finish with him. Very nice guy, had hip surgery recently. When he thanked me for the company he told me he would have been walking if I hadn't turned and joined him. It's usually on the drive home that I think "I shoulda...", so glad it dawned on me in time."
I was going to update this thread yesterday with my BadDawg sighting but was busy all day. I didn't know there was a race at the lake yesterday until I saw the leader going the other way with a number on or I would have jumped in. Saw BD twice, his lead over 3rd place was a lot bigger the 2nd time.
Mark your calendar for next year Mikey, and win it. It wasn't exactly well publicized, Randy from the Shamrocks posted to Facebook on Friday night. There were a couple of Mystic Runners at the registration table, but with the turnout I kinda doubt it was a club sponsored event. Thanks very much for the traffic report, I really do hate to turn and look during a race.
My legs were less than enthusiastic about racing, the Thursday night track workout was tough. Just tried to settle into a pace that I could hold, and that was around 6:10. Did manage to pick it up a bit for the final two miles, so that was good.
I am SO glad that I turned around and ran the guy in, he was in no-man's land and just about to turn into the wind off the lake. I asked if he would like some company, and his answer was "I would love it if you don't mind running this slow."
We had a great chat as we trotted along. He used to run for Greater Boston's second tier squad when Bill Rodgers & Company were the A squad. He has a summer place on the Cape, and has run 33 consecutive Falmouth Road Races. I can't be certain whether he said he had recent hip surgery, or recent hip replacement surgery. Either way, good for him signing up for a 10k and finishing it.

BadDawg rocks!
Proofread carefully to see if you any words out.

SELFISH, like you.
Who the hell runs 9.5 miles at 10K pace?
BadDawg.
You didn't do it alone but congrats on the brick anyway.
Nice, BadDawg. Nice.
