October 17th - Baystate Marathon - Lowell, MA - Beat Mikey, or die tryin'
Thunder smash!
Hometown AG win.
Dnephin, 100 miles, Oil Creek 100, http://www.oilcreek100.org/ Titusville, PA
Goal somewhat like looking at tealeaves. Weather looks good at this point. I'm told this is "easier" than the 77 miler I did in June, terrainwise and weatherwise, but I'm venturing into unchartered territory.
Super, super goal: <19:10 hours. (Last year's winning time was @ 19:13, by a buddy of mine who's an experienced ultra runner. I'm faster on the road and beat him handily in the June ultra, though he seemed to be suffering heat related issues.)
Of course, I'll be pleased to finish and <20 would be tolerable.
My supe,r super goal is not to say I plan on winning. The race was well received last year and apparently some fast runners are expected.
Oil Creek 50km
Goal: sub-5:30 and meet drink beer with dnephin
Good luck with your first 100 Dan! If you run like at Laurel Highlands indeed you will be up front. Some good talent signed up. Coming up Friday?
Me, haven't run much trails so it will be interesting.
I am coming up Friday. We'll see you there!
Bay State Marathon, Lowell, MA. Sub 3:40. WitnessThunder die trying.
BayState Marathon
sub-3:30
Sorry you did not ask for it, but here is my 2-cents
I woud start with
1) Smile a lot
2) Make it without falling
3) Finish
4) Finish under 24
5) Be strong the whole race
then your other 2 goals are gravy goals
Main thing is to take care of your body
1) Proper pace - It should not feel like a race until the last 30 miles -
2) Hydration
3) Electrolyte
4) Nutrition
5) Feet - Take the time to fix them if they are getting messed up in the 1st 80 miles.
6) Warmth - Do not get hypothermic or you your hosed

Not in Chicago
Baystate Marathon - Lowell, MA 3:15:59. There, it's out there, and man is that bizarre to write.
For the record, this is my wet dream, and is a remote possibility only if I feel fantastic if I roll through 20 at 2:29-2:30. A 3:20:59 gives me no shot at the and this is the thread of dreams, after all.
Who am I kidding? - only one of two people are getting the stupid ball this week.
You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.
Baystate Marathon - Lowell, MA 3:15:59.
Awesome.
