Candice is disqualified for deing difficult arbitrary reasons.

Rules are similar to the last few weeks, except they are more abitrary. If you're gonna try for a stroller PR, it better be swinging for the fences. I wanna hear that you faded terribly and still PR'd. I wanna hear that Gus was tired at the finish.

Drink n' Run has a big headstart since I love the mile. And now AP is in the running.

Good luck <-- I don't really mean this

Stay healthy <-- I do really mean this

    MTA:

And the Eight ball goes to extendedsolo. I just can ignore the gains and the per mile improvement, CONGRAT!

HMs: DnR and BHearn, great efforts guys

Drink n Run 1 mile 7/26 Rice Street Mile <6:15                   Should be <6:00 goal, but I suck!

Running a mile again after a poorly executed 6:30 in May.  Signed up for this thinking I would actually be back in shape and do some specific training and would try to run sub 6 for the first time in 20 years or so...

Instead, I am still running too little, and with little quality.  So, hoping for 6:15 or faster.

I am also running a 5K this weekend, but I want to see how the mile goes before I set a goal for that.  I will post again on Thursday night of Friday.  Gut feeling says I can try for about  22:30.

Glad to be racing again, but really not fit enough to expect much.

      "I aim to misbehave."

Excuse me, i'm supposed to do the race thread.

5:06 for the mile equals sub 17 for a 5K?  I guess we'll have to expect that 4:28 for a 1500 equals sub 16 then Big grin

That number is in the back of my head, but too agressive to say aloud. Please unread that last stmt please.

                  HobbyJogger & HobbyRacer

Coming off a very disappointing 5:28 mile (wanting to run 5:09 to PR) Sat, and a very satisfying 5:28 50K Sun, I'm planning to race the mile tomorrow (24th) at our track series. My goal is to break 5:20 this time, but that's not ambitious enough to be listed with tough goals, so if you're gonna list mine, put for a goal: PR & beat Joe & Phil, cause that's nice and unrealistically ambitious, I believe.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Did AP just discover the predictor workout for a 50 k, take your mile time in min:sec and your 50 k would be that number in hours:min

This was my first ultra, in 2008. I thought I was in shape for 10:00 then; I ran 11:47. It's finally time to get my revenge. Oh yeah, 8,700 ft. gain / loss.

I've got the fitness and the hill training. Just feeling a bit banged up (left Achilles, right ITB, maybe right knee). Such a fine line to walk balancing training and incipient injuries.

                          I wish. I am not a sub-4 miler.

White River is a big 50, right? Do you need to worry about not getting blocked in on single track behind hundreds of people?

Never mind - I'm thinking of AR50 (American River).

                            SELFISH, like you.

Bob, congrats on your sub 4 mile.
