Okay here are the rules. Can't be further away from Keene, NH then Roanoke, VA is. Must be over 150,000 population in a 12 mile radius. Also, must not be another FF right around there.
Ready go.
MTA: Reading, MA is already on the books from one fine sir as a suggestion.
Thunder smash!
HOLY CRAP WE CAN BE TRAINING PARTNERS.
Wayne MF NJ
North Jersey is full dumbasses ("consumers") with disposable income to spend on "gear." MF NNJ DO IT. Lots of yuppie wives who "want really want to get into running."
I don't know about the 12 mile radius, but North NJ is notorious for its population density.
Keene, NH is 4 hours. Okay, that is further than Reading, but they probably have a bunch of stores vying for preeminence in their snotty-ass NE Running "Scene" (Scene? Gimme a freaking break. I've heard of a hot dating scene, but a running scene, please).
Plus, PLUS maybe you can get into some kind of relationship (not a "relationship") with Hasher Rick and work the whole trail running thing to the hilt.
The biggest running stores in North Jersey are Sneaker Factory in Millburn and Ridgewood Running in Ridgewood. Rick may know of others.
New Haven, CT
-130,000 in the city, then at least that many again in 12 miles out.
-Not a lot of competition - closest Dick's is 15 miles away, no specialty shops in NH. Woodbridge Running Co. is small and out of the city. TrailBlazers tries to be a shoe store, but it's more of a everything-outdoors store.
-Major US championship (New Haven Road Race - usually the 20K championship) every year
-All the best CT clubs are based in New Haven (not sayin' much as there are only about 7 good clubs, but 4 of them are from New Haven).
-Rotating population of rich college kids who want to spend their parents' money
But Och! I backward cast my e'e, On prospects drear! An' forward, tho' I canna see, I guess an' fear!
No Talent Drips
Portland, ME. I know that Raynor is no longer "running" the parent company, but he's a 1/4 time Maine-ah...and I bet he'd help a brother out.
You should go get the clap just so you can give it to her. --beef
Tom is totally out. I do have family up that way too...but how hard is it to run in the winters? Too hard. That's my guess.
SELFISH, like you.
And they sell out February races.
Will look into. Who says I'd train with you though? Ahhhh Nads.

Right-o. It's kind of like running while taking a cold soak--or like that time that smucker's did this:
Not just because it's Thunder, but ... Johnson City TN.
MTA: whoops, it's technically slightly farther from Keene than Roanoke. Nvm.
How about Nashua? There is a Runner's Alley in Nashua, Manchester and Portsmouth. I would love another running store to frequent. I always buy something.
Good times never seemed so good.
I need to be able to convert these kinds of remarks into motivation. Anyways, your laurels are showing.
...
MADE YA LOOK!
Hmmm.

Who says I train ?
"As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man I have chalked up many a mile. Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks, And I've learned much from both of their styles." ~ Jimmy Buffett
"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”
