Sept 1st - I was 192# dressed to run - about equal to best shape of my life. Yesterday I was 222# naked.
Lot's of stupid excuses - Post goal race let-down (Striders 24), achillies, Another goal race too soon (Glacial 50), 15 hour days at work. Too much eating and booze. Just a bunch of bullshit. Sometimes I think I am afraid to suceed.
Not very impressed with myself. Don't really care about running Monkey (I will be there and run), I have likely screwed myself for Desert Solstice 24 (I will be there are run).
I am ready to start my end of year shut down and start planning for 2013.
But no rest for the weary or the wicked.
I hit a low point every year after taking a break - Usually in January, maybe this is my low point ... probably not, probably still haven't hit rock bottom yet.

At this point - I have some good goals for the rest of this year and next. But given my recent track record at achieving goals - They will remain private.
The one thing that is gone is any taper for Monkey - Not only will it be train through, My plan is to have this week and next at as many miles as I can run ... Whatever the hell that means.
