2000 miles sigh

MLB 2012 (Read 857 times)

Doc, my tooth hurts

That's why were committed to not winning, here on the North Side.

The cubs are on pace for 125 losses currently. That actually sounds about right.   It does feel nice to not have any expectations, fully knowing that in 5 years it should be cubs vs cardinals for division titles.

      Happy Birthday, Fenway!

        Not in Chicago

Bruins fans everywhere are cranky this morning.

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

That's why were committed to not winning, here on the North Side.

Alright, which one of you bastards stole my apostrophe?

Yeah.  The Cubs are going to suck this year.  They have made it clear this is a "rebuilding" year.  Sadly, it almost makes me feel better to suck all season, rather than get my hopes up then have my soul destroyed in October.

Speaking of sucking, I turned down a morning spent at a microbrewery followed by free tickets to the game today because of a big scary long-long run tomorrow.

MTA:  Hawks fans aren't that happy, either.  Four OT games.  Down 3-1.  The super ugly hit on Hossa by an ex-Canuck goon.  Ugly.

              poor choice

              You chose....poorly.

But Och! I backward cast my e'e, On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see, I guess an' fear!

Or as Pedro once said, "Save Fenway my ass!  Save me!"

                Runners run.

                  Humber!

                  Runners run.

Meanwhile, I think the red sox bullpen might have some issues...

                      Woohoo!

Sometimes, your achievement is so amazing, your teammates need to borrow a metaphor from another sport:

Meanwhile, I think the red sox bullpen might have some issues...

This team is laughably bad.  I have to wonder whether Larry Lucchino and friends are smarter than we think with this whole Bobby Valentine hiring.  Hear me out...

They know it's going to be a tough year because they lost their closer and they're still working off some very bad contracts--paying huge dollars to guys like Lackey and Dice-K to do nothing, and Carl Crawford to do whatever he does.

They know that whoever replaces Terry Francona is going to be their "rebound" manager and is going to struggle to find his way with that locker room and in this city.

So they overrule their brand new GM and hire a big personality who will draw a lot of attention on himself and serve as the fall guy when it all goes bad.  They can fire him after a year or two and everyone can point the finger at him and move on.

                        Runners run.

I am sure I am not the only one who called the Bobby Valentine debacle way back in December, but still: 1's.

This:  and Carl Crawford to do whatever he does.

                          haha.

                            Humber!

Hi last out was the first baseball I've watched this year. Just happened to click over sometime after the Bs game.

I guess I agree with your Red Sox sentiment. They have a mess of bad contracts and no shot for the next 2 years. Why not have a sideshow with Bobby V and then move on.

Good news is that season ticket holders I know are already trying desperately to sell their tickets for games before there's a glut on the market.

                            A Saucy Wench

I would just like to say how proud I am that my team contributed to this weeks greatest baseball moment.
