Bobby V.. oh.. and it was going so well.

Pedroia, notorious among teammates for his wit and humor, is in the foreground with a giddy smile, his tongue wagging and both thumbs up. Next to him is allegedly Valentine, face down on a table, apparently asleep. A caption accompanies the picture: "Our manager contemplating his lineup at 3:30 p.m."

    HAHA.

    Idiot

      BOOM!  Walk-off winner.

Yes, I do "run in this."  So should you.  The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.

shhh.. dont tell ESPN (and Colin Coheard) that Milky tested positive for PEDs.

          Not in Chicago

Baseball season's pretty much over, isn't it?

            Go Pats.

You suck. You should just quit. Jackass. Welcome back.

And to think Bartolo was having one of those "resurgent" type years at the end of a career.

As a Dodgers fan living in New England surrounded by Red Sox fans, I have no idea how to feel about this trade. Happy? Ummm. I dunno.

                I put it under there.

Thank you Dodgers for taking well over 50 million a year in payroll from 3 players that will probably perform very well in the NL. I would have liked to see a healthy Crawford next year as he did show at times what he could be. Beckett is older and doesn't care about anything anymore. And Gonzalez is a little better version of JD Drew and has a better upside in the NL. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 of these guys are on the NL All-Star team next year. I'm just not positive they could be that good in Boston. Yea Beckett won a championship in Boston, blah blah blah that was 6 years ago. He's clearly not the same pitcher anymore.

Well said. Happy to see the Sox blow it up and start over. Gonzalez, Beckett and Crawford were never going to work out in Boston. But they should all do pretty well in the NL West. Someone tweeted that it was like an NBA trade: you have to take these other salaries if you want Gonzalez. Bravo Ben Cherington, bravo. Or Lucchino finally did something right. Whatever, I'm happy.

I am pleasantly surprised that the front office actually did it--they blew up the Red Sox. I'm even more pleasantly surprised they found one team to take on all three of those bad contracts. If you had $250 million in payroll to spend is that how you would do it?? Thank you Dodgers.

                      Runners run.

                      Doc, my tooth hurts

So I'm assuming the Red Sox fans are ok with being irrelevant for a few years? I mean the AL east isn't getting any easier right?  Unless they are planning on spending all of that money again in free agency.

It's too bad they couldn't stack that John Lackey contract on top of that heap.

Naw they have roughly a lot of $$$$ to spend this offseason. They will compete next year, not so much this year. As long as they dont sign Greinke or Hamilton.

Yeah, cue the duck boats for 2015.

If they don't sign those two, who are they going to sign? Hunter Pence?

mmmm good question, some of the reporters here are talking about lower market teams "dumping" some of their higher payed players but they didn't get into specifics on who or what teams, is it football season yet???
