"Dream and be creative like a Hippie. Have the discipline and perseverance of a Boy Scout. Be crazy and take risks like the Hells Angels."

Are we past the dog days?

Are we past the dog days?

Without clicking, I am going to guess that this was a quote of The Freak. But then I am going to change my guess because after, "hippie," the rest does not sound like him.

"Dream and be creative like a Hippie. Have the discipline and perseverance of a Boy Scout. Be crazy and take risks like the Hells Angels."

Are we past the dog days?

I guess we live in a world where there is no shock value in the Expos/Nationals can taking the NL East...

Being completely disconnected from baseball this year, I'm actually looking forward to the MLB playoffs. There's a nice mix of old guard (Yankees, Braves, Cards) and unexpected upstarts (Nats, Orioles, As). Having the Red Sox season over before it ever really began has been liberating. I can watch the games for the entertainment with no real vested interest and no residual pain from a late season or early playoff Red Sox loss. This must be how people in Kansas City feel. Or maybe Mets fans.

You know, I don't know what came first: the chicken (my ability to enjoy any game between any two teams) or the egg (1991).

                            Homer MF Bailey!

                            Hes at it again..

Admittedly, Sabathia threw a gem tonight.

Ugh.. the playoffs went from really interesting to really dull in about 36 hours.
