Yes, I do "run in this." So should you. The weather is never as bad as it seems from behind your office or car window.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Crap. That's tomorrow night, isn't it?
FCK IT. My brain cells are still numb. Might as well sign up.

Yep. And see you then. You are a better and stupider man than I.

Nah. You are too kind, sir.
(Better go cash in some cans. My race budget is getting killed.)

(Potentially) 2 races this week.
First, on Wednesday, I'm going to go back and try to actually run the whole Back Cove 5k. Last week I had back pains a little over 2 miles in and cut back in the third mile. I'm going to try going out slower and see if I can finish it with a good effort.
Who: Run to Win
Distance: 5k
Race: Back Cove 5k
Location: Portland, ME
Goal: 18:45
If my back doesn't bother me and my wife doesn't make non-running plans for us for the weekend then I'll run the Beach to Beacon (which is always a fun and competitive race.) My goal will be to run sub-36...since I don't think I'm in shape for running sub-35. This will be the first time I won't break 35 minutes since 2005 (not counting when I didn't run in 2009 due to a broken foot.) I'm definitely not in sub-35 shape right now though.
Distance: 10k
Race: Beach to Beacon
Location: Cape Elizabeth, ME
Goal: Start, Sub-36
Run to Win23 Marathons, 10 Ultras, 16 States (Full List)
August 7. Blister in the Sun Marathon. 5 loops of 5.24 miles. Cookeville, TN. Hot. Sunny. Humid. Hilly. Stupid.
Goal: finish - OR - don't finish as soon as I realize that this is stupid
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.

This would be a minute slower than last year, but it's an aggressive goal given my current level of suckitude.
I put it under there.
