        Get Lucky 7K

        3/17/12

Goal - Sub 6:00 mpm pace (running long and throwing this race in as some torture, er I mean fun, along the way).

Goal: training run for Boston, not gonna push it any. Don't know how to evaluate the hills, but I'm thinking 5:00ish.

Lots of ultrarunning royalty at this one: Geoff Roes, Hal Koerner, Ellie Greenwood, etc. RD is Krissy Moehl. Yeah, I don't think this is the race to shoot for an AG award.

              RnR (National) marathon, 3:40

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

                Looking to join the maniacs?

No, I did this combo two years ago - 3:30 then 3:20 the next weekend. This year the goal was to race the one yesterday, and I'm supposed to pace 3:40 next weekend.

                  Blaine Moore (MM#2867)

                    Race: Germantown Half Marathon

                    Location: Germantown, TN

                    Goal: sub-90?

This will be day 18 of the 1 more mile challenge, which shouldn't be too hard since I'll have 13 supported miles and just need 5 miles in warmup/cooldown and still get back to the airport in time for my flight.

The tough part will be that for the 4 days prior to this I've got to get in runs totaling 14, 15, 16, and 17 miles despite having to fly halfway across the country and having very full days at the RRCA convention where I can't just go out and run in the middle of the day.

And, because this is starting to get into the tough part of the mileage for the challenge.

No idea if I'll run sub-90, it seems like it will be a doable goal, but given how much I need to run (including 19 miles the next day) I'll probably take it easy and not run that fast. But, it's nice to have a carrot, right?

So...anybody going to be in Memphis this week up for some early morning runs of varying distances? Smile

Not sure if I call it racing - But I am doing a organized fat-ass that they give you official times.

Dopple Bock          Fox Cities Marathon Backward       < 3:20          Running with a freind as a training run.

The course is not really marked - They give you a "Reel" (Not sure what that is) with directions - There are 2 or 3 places where they will have water and at 1/2 way they give you a 2nd "reel" with directions for the 2nd half.  Looks like a camelback day.

It is free - but I did make the suggested $40 donation to their scholarship fund.  Get a T-shirt and a finisher medal.  This race is 1/2 year from the actual Fox Cities Marathon - They run it the opposite way (Start at the finish and finish at the start)  Suppose to be upper 40s at start and low to mid 60s at finish and sunny.  GD - March in WI ~ this is amazing weather.

Plus Sage Canaday (of the IHOP 800 and Shit Runners Say fame).  He just got done with the Olympic Trails, is a 1:04 half/2:16 marathoner, and has decided he wants to be on trails.  It will be really interesting to see how he does.  He posted his long run of 28.15 miles which he completed in 2:47.  It is going to be a fun race to follow.

If it's not a technical course isn't he the odds on favorite?

My money would be on Roes. But it will be interesting.
