Ok....... I think I'm gaining.....I don't know, I stopped checking back in February.
You Nashvillians taper way too much. Oops did I say that out loud? Sorry. But these are the dangers of hanging out in a "running" forum the week of your marathon. Wink

        Runners run.

I generally do not taper. What you see in my log is not indicative of my usual ways. Last week I had work and family stuff from before dawn until after dark nearly every day and then worked both Saturday and Sunday. I got a grand whopping total of 12 miles, or something pitiful like that. I would not have been able to run much no matter when it was during the training cycle. That is the problem with running and having a life. Sheesh. This week my legs are tired, so I am taking it easy. If I feel good after this weekend's marathon, I expect to have a fairly normal week of running next week, despite the second marathon next weekend.

I can relate to that. Tho I don't really have a life. My kids do, which is nice. For them.

Yes. That is what I meant. Exactly.

I'm in taper mode, too and legs feel like crap. Always do during a taper and it can only be because we're not doing what we usually do, like train like animals every day! But I'll get through the race this Saturday and be wasted for a week Black eye , then be able to return to why I really run...the daily hour long sessions. Mikey went by me, then my measly 2.5 mile run pushed me ahead of him again....that's it, I fall into 4th place for good after next week. Tongue Good luck with your marathon, Trent... Steve
                Life is short, play hard!
*sigh* I feel so left out with all this taper talk. Someday I'll be able to relate, but I'm not there yet. Sad
Thanks Steve!! Those were exactly the words I needed to hear Big grin

                    You'll ruin your knees!

Tapir? The young ones can be really cute! Otherwise, they taste like chicken... Lynn B By the way, good luck to both of your in your racing endeavors! I HATE tapering!

This is a running forum? For the record my legs feel like crap, too. And somehow during my taper one of my metatarsals has flared up. Damn minimalist running. Damn running forums. Damn taper. I get moody when I'm not running myself into the ground. Must be my conflicted nature.

                        keep running.

Can I jump on the poor mood boat? I'm there too. Though I "tapered" a few weeks ago and then my mood was really bad. Seems too freaking quiet in here. I smell withdrawal.... hehe
running until I hit 1900 miles for the year. whether fast or slow I will just run.

If it helps, I'm trying to ramp back up, not taper. And looking back, I've only missed two days this month....Stoopid Jesus' wake...
