# Who's still hungry? (Read 87 times)

Fast is better than long

Runners eat 342,000 Doughnuts

Just more than 1,100 runners made the hour cut-off (of 7000+)

2013 Goals: 2500 miles / 2:45 marathon? / sub 2 800m / 4:30 mile / sub 16 5K / sub hour 10 miles

Something off with the math.  342/7 =  ~48  they only needed to eat a dozen

The bad decision side of me really wants to do this. Fortunately the good decision side of me will never travel to NC to do it.

I had the same concern, but I am really just a headline reader, I don't really need any facts to cloud my opinion of the situation.

MTA: I see reports that 342,000 were cooked for the competition so maybe the fans get freebies at the event, but how did the reporter know the fans were runners? 4th caption on this story. <Not sure of the accuracy of this report either, the URL mispelled downtwon. Maybe reporting is arbitrary.

There were 8000 runners, but only 3300 in the competitive category. They had another division where you could be a wimp and not eat all 12 donuts. They were all running back with a box of donuts in their hands.

I noticed one other thing. Where I went to school (Colorado State), the campus is covered in bike racks. The campus is closed to cars, bike racks line the street and they are full. On my warm up jog through N.C. State's campus I saw two bikes. Two.  Plus all of the students appeared to be sober.  Pathetic.

Plus all of the students appeared to be sober.

This is quite simply unacceptable.

And ... how'd you do?

We should make some kind of race thread so we can post races and results.   47:53. 33rd woman. I let the Swamp down. I apologize and vow to be a better stunt runner in the future. I just don't know what to do next, though.

More pixie sticks. We would have covered this if we had some sort of thread for racing and results.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

No, just two. And a marathon in South Carolina.  I just went through there and every 17 year old I encountered working at a shop or restaurant called me sweetie and honey a dozen or so times. I found it disturbing.
