Race: 'Til We Meet in Hell
Location: Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary, Lewiston Maine
Duration: 90 Minutes (Handicapped)
Goal: 10-11 Miles
Actual distance: 10.58 miles (2nd overall)
Handicapped distance: 12.25 miles (4th overall)
Did not get lapped! The leader was a tenth of a mile behind us on the steep uphill section when time was called at 90 minutes; I'd probably have managed to stay ahead of him until the end of the loop if we were still going but it was a moot point. That hurt a lot, but given my actual fitness level I feel like I had a strong race. Turns out about 200 feet of elevation gain over a quarter mile in the second half of each loop, which is what, a bit over a 15% grade? So, steeper than the Mount Washington average, but not as steep as the steepest points in that race.

I gotta tell you Blaine, that looks stupid and painful. I kinda envy you it.
It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.
+1. Congrats guys, way to kill it!
I would say Scully drunkass for . That's a pretty awesome PR that he's been working toward from what I understand.
How do you keep your feet on the ground, when you know you were born to fly?
break'n three
3:02:48 with a pit stop at 11ish. Really good day and ran pretty consistent. Sub 3 at Boston. Scully and Bhearn killed it and nice surprise seeing A1. I think Sully introduced himself again to him.
WOOT!
+1.
5-minute PR, first sub-3. Also Bash 3:30 PR, first BQ. Me... I have been aiming at this ever since Boston '11, and finally got my shot. About damn time. But 3-second PR, 3rd sub-3, doesn't really compare.
Well...there's the fact that you've been trying to PR for almost 2 yrs, and finally did. That's something. I can get behind that too. I'm going on over 2 yrs now.
Yes, congrats to all three of you guys!
