True story: my high school girlfriend gave me a guinea pig. A boy. A few weeks later, Gary became Gertrude - when she gave birth to half a dozen babies. I gave all but one away. Then, since I knew I had one fertile female and one God-knows-what, I built a big cage with a tall divide in it to keep them apart. Well, it took the little mother@%$@er (and I use that term in the correct scientific sense) about 10 seconds to figure it out. He became both a father and an uncle and a brother a few months later. The moral: guinea pigs are really horny. Also, good climbers.

Doing the math, even with 12 hours for fun, that's 2 an hour. If you cut it down to 8 hours, that's 3 per......No wonder he slept for 2 days.....
