DB is back. (Read 1001 times)

"Race Across The Sky"

DoppleBock looks to be back on some sort of form.

Last week saw a couple of nice easy treadmill runs of 32 mi and 41 mi for a weekly total of 158.5 miles.  Yesterday he knocked out a quick 40 miles on the tm to give 170 miles in the last 7 days.

In case you didn't know / had forgotten what this is all about.  Our very own DB is more than likely (has it been confirmed yet Mike?) to pull on a USA vest to compete in the freakin' World 24hr Championships in France in May.

Others who are probably going to be invited to join DB in the team include Scott Jurek, Jamie Donaldson et al.

What was the secret, they wanted to know; in a thousand different ways they wanted to know The Secret. And not one of them was prepared, truly prepared to believe that it had not so much to do with chemicals and zippy mental tricks as with that most unprofound and sometimes heart-rending process of removing, molecule by molecule, the very tough rubber that comprised the bottoms of his training shoes. The Trial of Miles; Miles of Trials

    Prince of Fatness

So let me get this straight.  DB was on some sort of running hiatus, then emptied his liquor cabinet, then started training like an animal and is now running 150 mile weeks with some ridiculously long TM runs.  Do I have it right?

Well then, that definitely is some strange behavior from him.

There is a long dark road ahead of me.

      mileage hound

There's only one way he can keep up his beer consumption with that kind of ridiculous mileage...

40 miles on a treadmill?  Regularly?  DB do you have a reversible lobotomy kit you do on yourself before you start or something?  I've been doing 40 miles per WEEK on a TM and thought that was a psychological victory.  Jeez man.

2012 goals:  Fastest race times since 2006.

        The shirtless wonder

Holy hell. In the imortal words of Wayne and Garth.

            We're Not Worthy

Oh and go kick some serious ass in the 24Hr Championships (when confirmed) in Frogland.

Thanks for the plug - I hope I am not being foolish and I am healed and its time to get my freak on.

Biggest # is 210# = Weight this Monday

              Goal Weight for May 13 = 180#

I can say I am officially on the Team - I will wait for the announcement before I say who else is on it.

Its a dream come true to find some way to represent the USA in a world competition - Now I have to not let my country, team, myself or the swamp down - I need to be in the best possible shape in 87 days from now.

I am just listening to my body - Monday was suppose to be a long day - I didn't have it - Last night I just felt too good to stop running - Of couse I do not sleep much after being hyper from 5+ hours of running.

So DB now stands for DragoBock, since he is working out indoors on a TM instead of out in the tundra?

Well, since you're giving up booze and chocolate for lent, you're that much more likely to lose the 30 pounds.

Team USA.  This is just amazing, DB.  Godspeed.

If we don’t try we’ll never know. At least I can find out how good I can be.  I can have an answer at the end of the days, and have a hell of a good time with the process. -Desi Davila
