JINGLE IT LIKE A BELL!
12/1 -- 5k, Jolly Jaunt 5k -- sub 18 maybe
12/2 -- 9.5 mi, Mill Cities Relay leg 4 -- sub 59 minutes
Saturday needs to be a sub-maximal effort both in terms of running and post-race drink up in order to leave something in the tank for Sunday, so 18 may be a stretch, we'll see.
Runners run.
SANDBAGGER!
I predict 23:23.

I see you got sucked into the long leg at MCR also
9.5 Mill Cities Relay leg 4 - sub 60 minutes

Nice, so Scully changed it up. You couldn;t convince Lindsey to run the long one
I'm in for the 2.5 mile on a swollen ankle...should be fun times..guess I need to make sure to pregame since it worked so well for me at Monkey
MTA: guess I need a goal time now since somebody put me on the race list
Goal: contribute to the co-ed masters team winning a brick..no clue on time but I guess 15-15:30 and hopefully not cause any additional damage to the ankle
Fast is better than long
I'm up in the air on this one. PaulyG, any words of wisdom?
If you enjoy traditional cross country vs. road racing, this is a very fun race.
It starts across a freshly plowed field (watch for ankle rolls)
You then meander around a horse "eventing" course
There are some very steep hills and they are single track.
There will be a stream crossing and it looks like no ice, but it's boggy and you can easily lose a shoe.
Tip: Get out fast if you want to post a time, otherwise you'll suffer typical single track bottlenecks.
2013 Goals: 2500 miles / 2:45 marathon? / sub 2 800m / 4:30 mile / sub 16 5K / sub hour 10 miles

you are really scaring me. and, probably scarring me.
I hate you guys. I still may show up at the Claddagh. I had to bail. My heel spoke. And it said, "Get the fuck off of me!"
For my (and others'?) edification:
Are you racing the 5k as part of the "race my way back to fitness" thing? In this connection, I am kind of impressed/surprised that you jumped right back into semi-normal running soon after the race.

I'll speak for mikey because we've talked about this. Recovery from Monkey is easier than most marathons, as you are constantly mixing things up with the hills. Plus mikey didn't really race -- wasn't fit enough to hurt himself too bad.
The Logic of Long Distance
What Jeff said. I didn't really race Monkey--after a couple of easy days I was basically back to normal.
Also, I'm racing the 5k because a friend, who is on the BOD of the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, asked me to and said he'd buy the beer afterward. I am easily bought that way. BTW if anyone is in the spirit and wants to make a tax deductible donation FEEL FREE.
joldfather - 12/1 Tecumseh Trail Marathon < 4:15 (this is a shot in the dark, I have no idea what to expect) after Monkey, this should be interesting
Damn! And good luck, J!
