I'm running the OUC Half Marathon on Saturday in Orlando.

 

I had big goals for this race, but because of a nagging hamstring issue, I'm going to say my goals are to (a) have fun and (b) not hurt myself any worse.

I had a pretty good day today, considering. I accomplished my goals of having fun and not hurting myself any worse, and I ran 1:35:37, which is almost a two and a half minute PR. I think I'm capable of running a good bit faster once I get this hamstring healed, but I'm quite happy with how things went today. 

I have no idea about placement and what not--official results were at the race site, but they aren't online yet.

Also, you might recall that immediately after this race last year, I stepped on a chili dog. This year, immediately after the race, I stepped in a big pile of dog shit.

Once I've had a chance to process how things went a bit more, I'm sure I'll blather about it on my log.

28:59   Jingle Bell 5K.  Felt terrible but won age group.   Saw R2E and R2E was flying down the course.  Great job!

Let me just say, too, that this is not a moment when you appreciate the drainage holes in the soles of your racing shoes.
